2010 Summer Solstice at Playboy Mansion

August 2, 2010 – Saturday, July 24th marked Hollywood’s celebration of the summer solstice. With moonlight, stars, and the Playboy Mansion as a backdrop, Hollywood stars and Los Angeles elite came out to play at The Prive Group’s annual charity bash, “2010 Summer Solstice @ Playboy Mansion.” The fundraiser benefited the Rescue Humanity Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the living conditions of the disenfranchised and vulnerable groups – orphans, abused women, and the rural poor – of Nepal.

After entering through the famed front gates of the Playboy Mansion, guests were led down a cobblestone pathway that opened out into the vast backyard of the Playboy Mansion. And what an incredible sight greeted them. Accented with festive lights and rocking beats, the Mansion grounds lived up to its reputation of fantasy and elegance. Free to wander among the Mansion’s expansive grounds, guests explored the mini-zoo, the bird sanctuaries, the manicured garden corridors, and, of course, the infamous Grotto. Adding to the excitement and beauty of the experience were the legendarily beautiful Playboy Playmates, body-painted women, female fire performers, and over 250 gorgeous models.

The silent auction featured exclusive, luxury items which lined the walkways to the main stage. The main stage showcased a high-end live auction, a sexy swimsuit fashion show, followed by the evening’s main entertainment, BROSHIGEEz, the new sensational group formed by Apl.De.Ap of the Black-Eyed Peas. BROSHIGEEz brought the house down with their ground-breaking, evolutionary style that fuses electronic, hip-hop, and pop into a rhythmic tour de force, the celebrity poker tournament, and the 2010 Concorsa Exotica car show on the Mansion’s front lawn, where rows of exotic and beautiful cars, such as Ferraris, Bentleys, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces were lined up.

Rescue Humanity Foundation cares for the neglected and forgotten groups in Nepal through their four projects: Rainbow House, Sharan House, New Found Jewelry, and Project Nepal. Rainbow House orphanage provides Nepalese children with a loving home, an education, healthcare, and, most importantly, protects them from exploitative forces such as child trafficking and prostitution. Sharan House was created as a safe place for abused women, most of who are infected with HIV/AIDS, suffer from recurring health problems due to malnutrition, tuberculosis, pregnancy complications, and depression, face community ostracization, and are left to die without any support. Sharan House provides these victims and their children safe shelter, medication, an education, and job training. New Found Jewelry gives these women a financial and creative opportunity and all proceeds from the sales of the beautiful, handmade jewelry benefit Sharan House. Lastly, Project Nepal brings in medical teams of experienced doctors and nurses to provide medical care for the rural poor in remote Himalayan areas.
