Stray Cat Alliance believes #CatsLivesMatter! In its 15th year as a leading cat advocacy and rescue organization based in Los Angeles, SCA has supported over 150,000 cats and kittens by providing life-saving resources. If you help us win the $50,000 Grand Prize in this Challenge, Stray Cat Alliance can save an additional 1,000 cats in south Los Angeles–one of the nation’s poorest communities–by providing spay/neuter, wellness and medical care. Imagine 1,000 more cats like Grace, Kit, Piper, Prue and so many more that can live because of your efforts!
SCA’s programs help community and owned cats stay healthy and stop the cycle of new litters. Our Care For Community Cats, I Spayed LA, Adoptions and Shelter/Neuter/Return programs assist cats and their caregivers so shelters and euthanasia are avoided. Advocacy and education are SCA’s tools to empower communities to ensure that every cat is safe, healthy and valued. Taking a stand politically and legally, SCA is called on to speak for voiceless cats threatened with death due to habitat change or building demolition. We appear in legal matters where caregivers’ lives are endangered, we resolve hoarding cases and we dispel myths about public health risks related to cats.
